Whether you're new to Roma Junior Soccer or returning for another season, this page has everything you need. Find out which age group your child plays in, what times games are held, and what to pack on competition day.

WHICH AGE GROUP DOES MY CHILD PLAY IN?

RDJSA follows Football Queensland's Player Age Policy, which means players are placed into age groups based on their year of birth. This ensures fair, safe and fun competition for everyone. Players aged 4 and over are welcome to join.

Check the table below to find your child's age group and their Saturday game time:

In special circumstances — such as insufficient numbers in a specific age group, a player's physical stature, or social awareness — players may play up or down an age group. If you'd like to discuss your child's placement, please reach out to our Secretary at romajuniorsoccer@gmail.com.

WHAT TO BRING

BLACK SHORTS

SOCCER BOOTS OR ENCLOSED SHOES

FULL WATER BOTTLE

SOFT

BRIMMED HAT

SHIN PADS

Jerseys and bibs are provided on competition days — so no need to worry about team strips. All of the above items (black shorts, black socks, hat) can be purchased locally if needed.

👟  The Boot Box — Need boots?

We've got you covered. RDJSA has a community boot box filled with donated soccer boots that players have outgrown. Any player is welcome to borrow a pair. And if your child has outgrown their boots but they still have life in them, please consider donating them to the box for another player to use.

What happens on Game Day?

Listen up Players!

Players should arrive 10–15 minutes before their scheduled game time and sign in at the red top gazebo. From there, head to your playing field where coaches and referees will organise teams and share the draw for the day.

If your child is unable to make it on a competition day, please let the Secretary know in advance so coaches and referees can be informed.

Please note: abusive or unacceptable behaviour — on or off the field — will not be tolerated. Players and supporters may be asked to leave the grounds if required.
